The first phase of SIE has been characterised by intensive efforts to mobilise, listen and lay the foundations for long-term national cooperation. Our ambition is clear – to work together to develop stronger innovation actors who can contribute to Sweden’s competitiveness, adaptability and international standing.

During the first few months of the project, 56 innovation stakeholders have taken part in the project’s activities; at the same time, we have held meetings with 18 regions, and more are gradually joining over the autumn.

“We are joining SIE to give our companies the best possible conditions to grow and adapt. But also
to create better opportunities to tackle societal challenges. We hope to gain new knowledge, contacts and tools, but also to share what we’re good at here in Värmland.”

“Sweden needs to cooperate much more effectively across regional boundaries. If we are to meet the challenges of the future, we cannot remain isolated – we must work together,” says Angelica Jacobo, Regional Development Strategist, Business, Research and Innovation, Region Värmland.
