TRAINING: BASIC INNOVATIVE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FOR COACHES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPERS

New to the role of business developer? Or do you want to update and sharpen your business development skills? Together with SISP members and partners, we now offer thematic modules that form different building blocks in the basic competence that a business developer needs to have in working with the target group of startups and scaleups. We are now releasing 30 more places starting in autumn 2024 – take the chance!

Background: In 2022, SISP organised a pilot round of the training. It was highly appreciated. In 2024, we will offer the concept to even more people. The training is modular, below you can see the planned dates.

In this programme, you as a business developer/coach will gain knowledge and tools in:

  • The business developer and the team – the role of business developer and coach for innovative teams and tools for team development (Wed 4/9 at 9.00-15.00)
  • Lean startup methodology – tools for innovative business development, (Tue 15/10 at 8.30-12.00)
  • Sustainable business development – sustainability as a core idea and competitive advantage, (TBD: November 2024)
  • Sales management – preparing innovative companies to meet their market, (Tue 3 Dec 8.30-12.00)
  • IP – strategies to build and protect value in a growing business, (Tue 14 Jan, 8.30-12.00, 2025)
  • Financing – how the idea journey can be financed from idea to scaling company, and how the company is prepared for external capital, (Thu 6/2 at 8.30 – 12.00, 2025)

Each theme is a half-day workshop (except for the first one, which is also a start-up, is a full day), homework is included.
The aim is to orientate the participant overall in the subject and be able to lead on the right path to in-depth knowledge and ability to use tools linked to each session.

We are now looking for around 20 business developers from across the country to join us:

  • Participation is free of charge
  • All training sessions are delivered digitally via Zoom, with the option to attend a face-to-face session in conjunction with the ERFA for business developers
  • The Business Developer should be “new” in their current role (but can be senior otherwise), at least about 6 months on the job.
  • The person will work operationally with the target group of startups and/or scaleups
  • The person should be motivated and interested in participating in all modules
  • After each block, an evaluation should be completed as a basis for further development of the concept
  • We would like to see diversity in the training programme and reserve the right to select from among those interested to achieve this, this is an expression of interest.

Tip! If you are considering also attending the Induction Training for New Employees(link to the training can be found here), we recommend that you complete it first and then continue with the GIA.
