NyTeknik’s prestigious 33 list is back for 2024 and highlights Sweden’s most promising technology startups. This year’s list shows not only the breadth and strength of Swedish innovation but also the importance of supportive ecosystems such as incubators. Of the 33 companies selected, 23 have been supported by an incubator, either as active participants or as alumni – a clear sign of how crucial these actors are in realising innovative ideas.

The importance for Sweden’s startups

The 33 List serves as a quality label for young companies driving developments in technology and sustainability. For the companies included, it is not only a chance to gain visibility but also an opportunity to strengthen their trust with investors, partners and future customers. Being included in the 33 list is also a recognition of the work and innovation needed to build tomorrow’s solutions. Many of the companies on the list are becoming leading players in their respective fields, and several are already internationally recognised.

“Being on the 33 list is a great recognition of the hard work and innovation that our team has put into driving the development of automotive software forward. Incubators like Minc play a huge role in providing young companies with the tools, network and framework they need to succeed”

“Being on the 33 list is a great recognition of the hard work and innovation our team has put into pushing the development of automotive software forward. Joining Minc gave us the support, community and resources that helped us lay the foundation for our growth. Incubators like Minc play a huge role in providing young companies with the tools, network and framework they need to succeed” says Per Sigurdson, CEO of RemotiveLabs.

The role of incubators in the success of companies

The fact that so many of the companies on the 33 list have been part of an incubator highlights the central role these organisations play in creating successful start-ups. Incubators not only provide access to resources such as funding and workspace, but also to expertise, networks and a safe environment where young companies can test their ideas and grow.

The fact that 23 of the 33 companies on this year’s list are or have been in an incubator is proof that in Sweden we have built up strong support for entrepreneurs who want to change the world with their ideas.

Jonas Michanek, VP Incubation and responsible for the learning part of the national incubator programme within SISP, underlines the importance of this structure:

“Incubators are fundamental to strengthening Sweden’s position as a global innovation hub. The fact that 22 of the 33 companies on this year’s list are or have been in an incubator is proof that we in Sweden have built up strong support for entrepreneurs who want to change the world with their ideas.”
