Building bridges for sustainable innovation and deeptech collaboration between Sweden and Singapore

What is the Sweden Singapore Innovation Cluster?

The Sweden Singapore Innovation Cluster (SSIC) is a long-term initiative led by SISP – Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, designed to strengthen collaboration between the Swedish and Singaporean innovation ecosystems.
The cluster connects startups, investors, corporates, science parks, incubators, and public actors — creating a strategic bridge between two of the world’s most innovative regions.

SSIC aims to accelerate the commercialization of advanced technologies that drive the green transition and support the growth of sustainable, deeptech-driven solutions.

Objectives

SSIC has four main objectives:

  • Accelerate international collaboration between Swedish and Singaporean innovation ecosystems.
  • Support startups in validating technologies, business models, and market opportunities in Asia.
  • Strengthen access to capital through investor matchmaking and partnerships with Singaporean investors and corporates.
  • Promote learning, visibility, and talent mobility across innovation environments in both countries.

By establishing a structured platform for collaboration, SSIC contributes to Sweden’s long-term competitiveness and strengthens our position as a global partner in green and deeptech innovation.

Why Singapore?

Singapore is one of Asia’s leading innovation hubs — a global gateway for research, capital, and technology commercialization.
With its strategic location, strong R&D capabilities, and focus on sustainability and advanced technologies, Singapore is an ideal partner for Sweden in accelerating innovation and international growth.

Annual activities

SSIC operates on a yearly cycle, with recurring activities that create opportunities for collaboration, investment, and knowledge exchange:

  • Nordic Singapore Innovation Days (NSID) – a flagship annual delegation week connecting Nordic startups, investors, and innovation actors with the Singapore ecosystem.
  • Innovation matchmaking – connecting Swedish startups with Singaporean corporates and testbeds.
  • Investor roundtables – fostering dialogue and co-investment opportunities between Nordic and Singaporean investors.
  • Delegations and site visits – curated exchange visits between innovation hubs in Sweden and Singapore.
  • The Nordic Singapore Tech Community – a growing cross-border network for continuous learning and collaboration.
